About Jaylen
Art has always been a big part of Jaylen’s life. He has a bright personality that his family always encouraged him to share with the world. From singing in church to working on TV sets, he had a lot of experiences as a young boy that shaped him into the artist he is today.
Jaylen Bryant is an African American singer, actor, and dancer from University Park, Illinois. He is currently attending Ball State University to receive his BFA in Musical Theatre. Some of his favorite roles include Chris in Lynn Nottage’s Sweat, Audrey II in Little Shop of Horrors, and Twig in Bring it On. He wants to use theatre to inspire people to follow their dreams. He enjoys performing a variety of works! From the upbeat and fun, to pieces more serious and raw, Jaylen loves doing it all! His favorite pieces are those that authentically showcase a black experience, without necessarily pulling from instances rooted in Black trauma. His ideal show is fun to do, fun to watch, invites laughter, and creates an overall positive experience! He believes that balance is necessary, and equally important for performing works that are both inspiring and personally gratifying!
